Cumin Seeds

Cumin is one of the most popular spices. It has a strong aroma and a bitter, slightly nutty taste. Both whole and powdered seeds are used. Whole seeds are used in the preparation of pilaf, meat and fish dishes. Ground seeds are added to meat and vegetable dishes, cold appetizers, soups, flour products, marinades and sauces. Cumin facilitates the digestion of heavy foods and makes familiar dishes, especially pilaf more delicious. Therefore, in the East, a meal is considered inferior without cumin.
