This salt is harvested from the waters of the Pacific Ocean using traditional methods of solar evaporation which allows salt crystals to form while retaining the desired trace elements. The salt is impregnated with Hawaiian volcanic clay called “Alae” that gives the salt an unusually red color. This special salt with a rich taste is suitable for all types of roasted meat, especially for steaks, and also complements cold and hot salads with a pleasant taste and crispy texture. The salt has a mild taste with sweetish, nutty notes.
