Pink Himalayan salt is rock salt from a deposit in the Punjab region of Pakistan. It is mined in a salt mine in Khevra, which is located in the foothills of the Salt Range in the Indo-Gangetic Plain. It is a source of at least 25 useful elements in its composition: iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, copper and iodine, which are preserved in their natural form. They are 100% absorbed by the body at the cellular level, without undergoing transformations in the process of metabolism. Regular use of pink salt provides the body with all the necessary minerals and trace elements. Pink Himalayan salt is widely used in cooking instead of common salt including for garnishing dishes.
